The View Out My Window

Well, circa 1941, anyway.

Indiana University has just posted online the entire 14,000+ photograph collection of amateur photographer (and heavy traveler) Charles W. Cushman.

The color photos, largely taken from the 40's through the early 60's, are tagged geographically, by subject, by year and by genre.

The image of Trinity Church can be found here or you can browse through 130+ photos of New York City from the 40's and early 60's. Or, pick your favorite worldwide city from this list.

The most amazing thing to me about this image is how little the view has changed today, except of course, that the truck wouldn't be able to get past the barriers set up at the corner of Wall Street and Broadway.
