SIIA Information Industry Summit next week
The SIIA Information Industry Summit (IIS) will be held next week at Cipriani in New York. For various reasons, IIS remains among the best content industry events of the year. The networking is always good, as it attracts senior-level executives and the New York location brings out a lot of people who would be less apt to travel.
My favorite part of IIS is the Previews segment, which runs a half-day on the afternoon before the full conference kicks off. Previews, which is organized by Larry Schwartz of Newstex, spotlights early stage companies in the content and related technology space. This year, Previews is included in the conference fee, so turnout should be even higher. The lineup at Previews looks great, as always. Venture investor and entrepreneur Roger Ehrenberg is the keynote speaker. Roger is also the author of the Information Arbitrage blog (which should be a must-read for anyone who reads this blog). Joel Dreyfuss will moderate a blog featuring Generate (now Dow-Jones) co-founder Tom Aley, Kate Bluvol and Ed Reitler. Then, on to two sets of five company presentations from the startups. I'll detail the presenting companies in a later post.
If you plan to be at Previews and/or IIS, please stop by and say hello. Or, send me a tweet @graubart and I'll find you there.
