Twitter starting to roll out search, trends to drive Real-Time Web
Twitter has begun the rollout of its new home page which includes search and trends.
My Twitter account has the new UI this morning:
The Alacra Pulse account still shows the old interface:
Real-time search with Twitter is becoming a real part of my workflow. I've integrated the "Realtime Twitter Results on Google" greasemonkey script for Firefox and have found it very compelling (though Mark Carey has to come up with a shorter name for it). The real-time web is increasingly important and Twitter is at the heart of it.
I mostly use third party apps for Twitter - Tweetdeck on the desktop and TwitterFon and Summizer on the iPhone; but for those occasions when I go to the browser-based view, it's good to know that search and trends are now integrated.
