Speaking at NFAIS
I'll be speaking at the NFAIS (National Federation of Abstracting and Information Services) User-Generated Content and Social Media conference this Friday.
I am on the panel "Blogging as Professional Practice in the Information Community", along with Rafael Sidi, of Elsevier Engineering and Steven Bell, Associate University Librarian for Research & Instructional Services at Temple University.
The focus of the panel will be on the value of blogging as a communications tool. I will be focusing on some of the drivers behind blogging (and how the three blogs I'm involved with - Content Matters, Alacra Blog and Research Recap, differ in this area), the challenges of blogging and some of the benefits I've seen.
If you're planning to attend, drop me a note at barry-at-graubart-dot-com.
