(NOTE: 6 of these 10 have happened for me today, so I'm feeling very lucky).
1. Finding a seat in the waiting area within reach of the electrical outlet. Bonus: when both outlets are open, allowing you to charge iPhone + laptop (or Blackberry or iPad etc).
2. Oh no, oh no, oh no, ahhhh.... - that very large person who was eyeballing the seat next to you the entire time they were boarding just continued down the aisle, past your row.
3. An aisle seat most of the time, but landing a window seat that one time you need to catch a few hours of shuteye.
4."We're second in the queue for takeoff"
5. An electrical outlet at every seat (especially critical when #1 doesn't happen): Thank you Virgin!!
6. That moment when you put on the noise-cancelling headphones. It's like a burst of instant valium (or a burst of "Chynga" but there's only one person who'll know what I mean).
7. An open middle seat adjacent to you.
8. First noticing the infant or toddler seated in the row in front of you when you are deplaning. Could she really have slept the entire flight? (Had this happen on a recent flight to London).
9. "This is your captain speaking. We caught a pretty nice tailwind and we'll be landing 30 minutes ahead of schedule."
10. GoGo Inflight Wireless, turning the flight into a productive mix of work and social media updates. And, allowing me to post this to the blog from 35,000 feet.
For those curious, I've been lucky enough to experience #1, 3, 5, 6, 7 and 10 so far today).
