New Version of Twhirl with Strong Friendfeed Support
Loic Le Meur and the Seesmic team announced the release of version 0.8.2 of Twhirl, the Adobe Air-based desktop client for Twitter.
I have found Twhirl to be a great client for accessing Twitter. Now, with the new release, it's also a great Friendfeed client.
Details on the new release are on Loic's blog. But if you really want to get a sense of the upgrade, check out the comments on Friendfeed. Friendfeed is really beginning to catch on, partially due to Twitter's uptime problems but also because it captures the threading of a conversation, while Twitter cannot. Of course, Friendfeed can be overwhelming at times. They've recently added "rooms" which allow you to keep the conversation more manageable, but there will have to be better filtering capabilities before Friendfeed can be managed. That said, if you're using social media apps, both Twitter and Friendfeed are worth testing out.
You can download the new version of Twhirl from Loic's blog.
